We've had a great start to this new year!
Students have returned eager to learn, and with our emphasis on respect, they have grasped this message well. This week, we discovered that glass thermoses don’t work well for our students, who can sometimes be a little clumsy. When those thermoses fall on the classroom floor, glass often ends up everywhere. Please do not send your children with that type of thermos.

Introducing the Knight Code
Just as knights long ago followed a code of virtues to guide their actions, we too choose to live by values that help us grow as kind, respectful and courageous people. Our Knight Code reminds us of the qualities we strive to show each day. By living these virtues, we not only make our school a better place, but we also prepare ourselves to lead with character in our communities and beyond. Together, we can stand tall, support each other and build a school where everyone feels valued and inspired.
Our faculty and staff will be on the lookout for students who are demonstrating virtuous living, as Knights do. When caught, students will receive Code Cash! When a student earns 5 Cash slips, they are able to turn it into a Dress Down Day coupon.
Let's all work together to grow as leaders and create a respectful school that strives for excellence and includes everyone!
Faith Families are Formed and Functional
Talk to your student about their Faith Families. These are functional groups across grades K-8. They will attend mass, work on projects, and strive live by our SPX virtues. Each family will have a color assigned to them and will wear that color on the days they work together!
Dress Down Passes are Here
We love our school uniforms—but every now and then, it’s fun to switch things up! Give your child the chance to enjoy an Out-of-Uniform Day (or five!) while also supporting our school.
How It Works:
- Out-of-Uniform Days will take place once a month from September through January.
- Passes are just $5 each—or purchase the full set in advance and save! Get 5 passes for only $20.
For Preschoolers:
Since our littlest learners don’t wear uniforms, preschool families can join the fun too—with Pajama Day passes!

Interested in getting more involved this year? Whether you want to help out in the classroom or with special events, we have a spot for you! We'd love to have you join us.
Note: To volunteer in any capacity at SPX you must complete the Virtus Online training. Choose Diocese of Joliet once you have made an account. Complete "Protecting God's Children" training.
Join Us for Trivia Knight!
Get your team ready for the PSA's biggest fundraiser of the year, Trivia Knight! This adults-only event is on Saturday, September 13 Doors open at 7:00 pm for set-up, with trivia starting at 8:00 pm in the Social Center.
Gather your friends, family, and neighbors and get ready to go-fight-win! The cost is $25 per person, and you can have a team of up to 10 people.

Dad's Club News
Fall Sports are Underway
Volleyball:
The Knights Volleyball season is well underway! Our teams have had varying results, but each and every athlete shows the league what it means to be a Knight when they step on the court!
Cross Country:
The Knights Cross Country Team has already taken part in two preseason meets to get our Knights ready to compete this season. The first was our own St. Pius X hosted 4th Annual Chicagoland Cross Country Classic, which was an open invite event in which 16 teams competed!
Our first official meet is Saturday 9/6 at Perry Farm Park in Bourbonnais, IL. Stay tuned next week for the results!
St. Pius X Athletics is excited to announce our return to Feed My Starving Children for an evening of service, community, and giving back!
We warmly invite all athletes, athletic supporters, families, alumni, and friends of SPX to join us as we come together to help feed children around the world.

Knights Basketball Registration is Now Open!
Registration is now open for St. Pius X Knights Basketball (Grades 5–8)! The season runs from November through early March and includes practices twice a week, regular season games, and postseason opportunities.
