Rooted in Respect
In a Catholic school, teaching students respect is deeply rooted in the values of faith, compassion, and the dignity of every person. Teachers model respectful behavior by embodying Christ’s teachings in their words and actions, encouraging students to treat others with kindness and understanding. The classroom becomes a community where listening, empathy, and valuing differences are not only encouraged but seen as reflections of Gospel values. Through prayer, service projects, and discussions about moral responsibility, students learn to recognize the presence of God in each person and appreciate the impact of their actions. By consistently nurturing these attitudes, educators guide students to grow in empathy, self-awareness, and a sense of responsibility that extends beyond the classroom and into the wider world.
We began this week with our plan to promote Knight-like behavior. When a student demonstrates one of the qualities of a Knight in everyday life, they will earn a Knight Code Pass. The qualities we emphasize are Faith, Honor, Servitude, Respect, Courage, Excellence, Loyalty, Justice, Gratitude, and Peace. Students will also be recognized at our monthly Knight assembly. Our goal is to develop many knights this year!
