All Saints Day: A Special Celebration for Catholic Students Honoring the Holy Men and Women Who Inspire Us
All Saints Day (Also called the Solemnity of All Saints), celebrated on November 1st, is a special feast in the Catholic Church that honors all the saints—those known and unknown—who have lived holy lives and now reside with God in heaven. This day reminds us to look up to these remarkable individuals as role models of faith, courage, and love.
For Catholic students, All Saints Day is a chance to learn about the lives of saints who faced challenges, showed kindness, and stayed true to their beliefs. By studying their stories, students can find inspiration to act with compassion and integrity in their own lives.
Ways to Celebrate All Saints Day
- Attend Mass to honor the saints and ask for their prayers.
- Read about your favorite saint and share their story with your classmates.
- Reflect on how you can follow the example of the saints in your daily actions.
The saints come from all walks of life—students, teachers, doctors, and more. Their dedication to God and service to others show us that anyone can strive for holiness. On All Saints Day, Catholic students are encouraged to remember that they, too, are called to be saints through their faith and good deeds.
All Saints Day is a meaningful celebration for Catholic students. It is a time to honor those who have gone before us, learn from their lives, and be inspired to grow closer to God. By embracing the lessons of the saints, students can make a positive impact in their schools, families, and communities. Students have a chance to attend a mass at Saint Pius or their home church, and our school mass on Wednesday, which will be dedicated to the Saints.

Around SPX this Week!
This week at St. Pius X was filled with both studies and smiles as our classrooms balanced learning with plenty of Halloween fun! From math and reading projects to creative crafts and costume parades, students and teachers alike got into the spooky spirit—ghosts and ghouls were spotted throughout the halls (and a few of them might’ve been staff!).
Our 6th graders also managed to sneak in a fascinating field trip to the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, where they explored the beauty and science behind gemstones, minerals, and intricate carvings.
It was a week of laughter, learning, and a little Halloween magic at SPX!

Meet Your St. Pius X
School Board
The St. Pius X Parish School Board works in partnership with our pastor and principal to support a long-term plan for the success of our school. Guided by our vision of Building Minds, Hearts, and Souls, the board is made up of school parents who serve in an advisory role, offering counsel, perspective, and support to help strengthen our faith-based community.
A key part of this work is listening. The board helps ensure that parent voices are heard and considered in school planning and priorities. In the coming weeks, families will receive invitations to participate in small-group listening sessions focused on key aspects of school life. The insights gathered will help inform our discussions with school leadership and guide future planning.

Knights Volleyball Post Season Congratulations
Congratulations to our 5th Grade Boys Volleyball Team on being crowned Divisional Champions! The Knights battled with heart and teamwork all season long, finishing strong and representing SPX with pride.
We also celebrate our 8th Grade All-Conference honorees—Ben Rachubinski, Aaron Himmes, Colleen Lindt, and Ayla Ahrens—recognized by opposing coaches for their outstanding play, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
We’re proud of all our student-athletes for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence both on and off the court. Once a Knight, Always a Knight.

Knights Basketball: Evaluations at SPX
At St. Pius X Athletics, our goal is to ensure every student-athlete is placed on the team that best matches their current skill level, experience, and potential for growth. To make this process as fair and objective as possible, we partner with independent, third-party evaluators who specialize in youth basketball assessments. Coaches, parents, and the Athletic Director do not take part in the scoring or placement decisions.
We understand that tryouts can be both exciting and stressful. Regardless of placement, every player is a valued part of SPX Athletics and will have the opportunity to learn, compete, and grow this season. We ask that both athletes and parents approach evaluations with an open mind, trust the process, and remember that success is measured not only in wins, but in effort, teamwork, and improvement.
