A “Pig-tastic” Week in Mrs. Rachubinski’s Pre-3 Classroom
In Mrs. Jennifer Rachubinski’s Pre-3 class, learning comes to life in the most magical ways—and this week, the magic came straight out of the pages of a fairy tale!
As part of their fairy-tale unit, our youngest Knights explored The Three Little Pigs, diving into the classic story with curiosity, laughter, and hands-on creativity. After reading the tale and talking about the pigs’ very different approaches to building their homes, the class got to work designing and constructing their own miniature houses.
And then came the best part…
The Big Bad Wolf Test!
One by one, the students gathered around to huff… and puff… and try their very best to blow the houses down! Giggles filled the classroom as each child took a turn seeing whether their construction could stand strong against their best wolf impression.
The activity wasn’t just fun—it laid the foundation for early STEM thinking. Students experimented with their designs, tested their ideas, made observations, and learned that sometimes the strongest ideas take the most time and effort.
From storytelling to engineering, it was a week full of wonder in Pre-3. In Mrs. Rachubinski’s classroom, every day is a new adventure—and this fairy-tale lesson was one the children won’t soon forget!
