For our students, these final weeks are a chance to finish what they started—with effort, discipline, and pride. But for us as parents, it’s a reminder too. The pace of life doesn’t slow down, but moments like this invite us to be intentional—helping our children stay focused, encouraging good habits, and modeling what it looks like to follow through.

The finish line of a school year is more than grades and schedules—it’s about forming character. Learning to stay the course. Learning that how you finish matters.

At St. Pius X, we are always working to build minds, hearts, and souls—and sometimes the most meaningful growth happens in these final, quieter weeks when perseverance is tested.

So as we move through these last Mondays:

Let’s help our students stay focused.
Let’s model it in our own lives.
And let’s finish this year with purpose, together.

Principal Search - 

We have an update!

Dear Parents,

I wanted to keep you updated on where we are in our principal search process—and to share an important next step.

Earlier this month, the Diocese reviewed candidates who applied not only to St. Pius X, but also to principal positions across the Diocese. They vetted credentials and references and conducted initial screening interviews to assess each candidate’s readiness to lead a Catholic school.

From there, the Diocese forwarded a smaller group of candidates to us. We conducted interviews with those candidates in late March, with the help of a committee made up of school staff, school board members, and parishioners.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in our recent parent input sessions, both in English and Spanish. We had strong participation and very thoughtful feedback across both groups. I am grateful for the time, honesty, and care you brought to this process.

As a reminder, several clear themes emerged from the sessions:

Stability, consistency, and long-term leadership
Visible, engaged leadership in the school and parish
Clear expectations, discipline, and a strong student culture
Commitment to our Hispanic community and inclusive communication
Strong, proactive communication with parents
These themes were not simply noted—they directly shaped how I evaluated each candidate.

After completing the interview process and reviewing all feedback, I have chosen Megan Pauley as the next principal of St. Pius X.

In making this decision, my primary criterion was this:

We need a strong leader for our faculty and staff—one who supports our teachers and ensures clear, consistent expectations so that every child can thrive.  

Our school will grow not simply through programs, but through a culture where:

teachers are supported in their work
expectations are clear and consistent
and accountability is real and sustained
This balance—support and accountability—is essential for a strong faculty, a strong student culture, and ultimately, a strong school.

In her work at St. Pius X, as well as in her interview, Megan demonstrated a clear commitment to:

consistent expectations for students and staff
follow-through and accountability in implementation
strong communication and transparency
and a deep personal investment in the mission of this school
At this new juncture, I want to be clear: the feedback from parents, staff, and parishioners will continue to matter.

The themes you raised—especially around communication, consistency, discipline, and a commitment to whole-child excellence—will remain areas of clear focus and expectation moving forward.

As always, I am sincerely grateful to all of you for entrusting your children to us.

Dear St. Pius X Families,

I am humbled, honored, and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of St. Pius.

This community holds a very special place in my heart, and I am blessed to experience it from multiple perspectives. As an alumna, St. Pius X played an important role in shaping who I am today. Now, as a current parent to Gavin (6th grade) and Brenna (4th grade), I am grateful to walk alongside you in supporting our children’s growth and education.

Having also served as a teacher here, I have seen firsthand the dedication of our staff, the joy of our students, and the strength of our faith-filled community. Each of these roles has deepened my love for St. Pius and strengthened my commitment to our mission. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to continue this work in a new role and to help lead our school forward.
